My Veteran Buddy Membership Basics

General At-Large Citizen Member

This is a person who believes in the mission of My Veteran Buddy and chooses to join as a paid member but lives in an area that doesn't have an active command yet. This member will also be considered a founding member and will be given the proper ribbon and award when requirements are met. A citizen under this classification of membership will automatically roll over to being considered an In Command Member once an active command is stood up where he/she lives.

In Command Member

This is a citizen who joins My Veteran Buddy who lives in an area where there is an active command.

Veteran Member

This is a citizen that has been proven to be a veteran via a DD-214 discharge paperwork. This member will either be on payroll for their local command or will be able to participate in their local commands day trading program & duty section leader program.

Business Member

This is a business that is in an area that has an active command and chooses to partner with that local command to help complete the different operations within My Veteran Buddy.

Organization Member

This member is for non-profit organizations, charities, and churches who wish to partner with My Veteran Buddy and who is within an area that has an active command stood up.

Ribbons and Awards Overview

Just like the military, there will be ribbons and awards given to My Veteran Buddy members. Ribbons will be embroidered patches that members can attach to their official My Veteran Buddy uniform hat, while Awards will be presented as wooden plaques.

Ribbons

Ribbons are earned by veterans, organizations, and citizens who achieve milestones or contribute in unique ways within My Veteran Buddy. These represent dedication, service, and community impact.
Founding Members Ribbons: For those who joined early and helped establish the organization.
Different Team Ribbons: Awarded for participation and leadership in team operations.
Membership Tier Ribbons: Representing each member’s commitment level.

Awards

Awards are formal recognitions for veterans, organizations, and citizens who go above and beyond. Each wooden plaque symbolizes dedication, leadership, and positive impact on the community.
Founding Members Awards: Honoring the original leaders and supporters.
Team Awards: Recognizing units that show excellence in execution and teamwork.
Membership Tier Awards: For members who demonstrate consistent engagement and mentorship.
